Vegas Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers is committed to your safety and well-being. Providing you access to excellent and compassionate care has always been our top priority. We remain prepared to meet your health needs while also addressing your public health concerns about the Coronavirus or COVID-19.
You can be confident that we are in a continued state of readiness to serve you and our community. Our office is working closely with the local public health departments and our highly trained providers are closely following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Because of the robust infectious disease protocols that we have in place, we are ready to continue caring for and protecting our communities during this time. In addition, we have implemented enhanced disinfection practices to ensure safety of our patients and providers.
Social distancing, as recommended by state, federal and worldwide agencies, is truly the best way for our community to slow the spread of this virus and prevent unnecessary illness. All individuals should avoid contact with others wherever possible and wash hands or use hand sanitizer after contact with others outside their home. If you are 65 or older, immunocompromised, or have contact with someone who is immunocompromised, or if you are in another high-risk category, it is critical that you stay home and away from others. This includes not going to a routine dentist appointment such as teeth cleaning, a doctor visit for medication refill or annual checkup. However, if you are sick or have some symptoms, it is also critical that you be seen by a healthcare professional. This may involve strep testing, flu testing of testing for the COVID-19.
People are cancelling doctor visits, which may not be a good idea. A person fighting chronic sinus infections may not be able to fight other infections off, like COVID-19. Our office is prepared to help you decide whether you should plan to come in for a scheduled appointment or reschedule.
During this pandemic period, we will continue to provide services. We are aware that people are now apprehensive to come in to have their sinus issues assessed, thinking this is not important. However, we do encourage you to continue in doing so because chronic sinus infections may pose as a risk factor for Coronavirus, the flu or other infections. Having chronic infections like sinusitis puts you at higher risk of having more problems should you do get such an infection. A person fighting chronic sinus infections will not be able to fight off other infections, like COVID-19. If your sinus issues are treated, it will aid in lowering your risk of contracting not only the coronavirus but also lower your risk of serious problems if you contract the infection. By preventing a compromised immune system your body has a better chance at combating all illnesses.
Our office will remain open by appointment only. If you are home and experiencing coronavirus-like symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) and have been in contact with someone who likely has an active coronavirus infection, we encourage you to call before coming to our office. We will give you instructions on how to get tested and also limit the risk of exposure to other people.
Our office can help to try to distinguish between a cold, the flu, allergies, sinus infections and COVID-19.
